Descrição: Trata-se de um silo de armazenamento de clinquer de uma fábrica de cimento. A estrutura metálica da cobertura é formada por um conjunto de 24 asnas, dispostas radialmente em torno de um fuste central de betão, constituído por um elemento cilíndrico de betão, que permite o abastecimento de clinquer a partir do topo, e por um conjunto de vigas circunferenciais (aneis). As fundações situam-se sobre uma camada de siltes e areias. A estrutura sofreu colapso parcial de algumas asnas, aparentemente devido a um excesso de carga por deposição de poeiras. A intervenção consistiu na reposição da estrutura original, aumentando o diâmetro do anel rígido central e reforçando os contraventamentos.

Study: Study of the structural reinforcement of the clinker silo.

Description: This is a clinker storage silo of a cement plant. The steel structure of the cover consists of a set of 24 trusses, arranged radially around a central concrete shaft, comprising a cylindrical element of concrete, which allows the supply of clinker from the top, and a set of circumferential beams (rings). The foundations lie on a layer of silt and sand. The structure has undergone partial collapse of some trusses, apparently due to excessive deposition of dust loading. The repair consisted in the replacement of the original structure, increasing the diameter of the central rigid ring and reinforcing bracings.
